Market demand on systems with increasing performance mainly focused on the concept: "Energy saving" is more and more actual.
This concept should not be limited to energy savings only (low energy consumption), but also to the waste reduction during start-up and color change phases.
More are the cavities involved more is evidence of benefits .

For this specific case the HRSflow Multitech division proposed a solution with MT29-75 nozzles. The molded part was a yogurt cap (2 gr weight, 1,6 mm thickness ) molded in HDPE.
Considering these are systems running at compressed short cycle times, special attention was given to the thermo-fluid dynamics aspect of the whole system . The hot runners include an innovative systems that balance the melt flow in the runner in the most optimized way
Following to FEM analysis the system has been thermally optimized by means of proper shaped heaters.

For this purpose, the R & D Multitech Dept has realized a series of transitory simulations to replicate exactly production environment.

The injection nozzle has a series of technological solutions combined with the use of high-performance materials (eg high wear resistance sintered tips ), that make it a strength point of the system. The Hot Half platens are shaped in order to ensure good stability on duty and wherever possible, the concept of platen support has been used.
All these features allowed to reach not only a very high performance system but also an "easy to use system despite the large number of cavities"like stated by the molder.

Special attention deserves the start-up stage. After 15 minutes of stand-by all 64 cavities fill up completely thus reducing the waste during the restart: "Energy saving", without having to increase the temperature of the hot runner.
